SEPTEMBER 1ST

EXPATRIATE AND MIGRATION

The last class the professor talked about expatriate and migration.
First he asked to the class the definition of migration, we all said that migration is a phenomenon in which one person or a group or people move from one country into another.

Reasons for migration:
1. Road construction
2.Media development
3.Rural economic difficulties
4.Armed conflict
5.Health care and education conditions
6.Better rewards
7.Growth of public administration
Also the professor said the definition of expatriate, it is a temporaly or permanently residing in a different country from where she or he is a citizen. The difference between the expatriate and the migrants is that the expartriates are skilled and work in their own profession, meanwhile the migrants generally works as illegals or do whatever job they could find, for example: in America there are a lot of latins looking to achieve the american dream.

EXPATRIATE IN A COMPANY
  • The company requires the know how of an employee
  • That work cannot be done by a local worker
  • They became embassadors of the culture, the knowledge an the philosophy of the organisation
  • Having an expatriate empoyee is really expensive, so we can say that they are very qualify.
  • They have to be trust worthy employees and have the complete support of the organisation.

In the other hand we also sew the term immigration which is the proccess of entering the frontier of a foreign country by people who resides in a different place.

Sorrounding this terms there is something really bad called Xenophobia, it is an hostile reception from the host citizens of a foreign country to the foreigners. It is very common in Europe, for example in Spain, there have been cases in which xenophobic people killed , hit or reject latins.
